Thank you to Yewande Ralph of the Natural Fragrance Company, and Better Sleep Clinic, for inviting me to talk about Emotional Awarneess for healthy sleep.
In March 2017 I took a massive step, sharing my Emotional Cycle diagram with the world for the first time. Not only was it the first time, but it was LIVE on stage. I gave a TEDx Talk about Tackling Teenage Depression at TEDxNorwichED.
The talk 'Tackling Teenage Depression' was in front of an audience of 300 people from the Educational Sector, and Live on YouTube. It was uploaded permanently in April, and is still growing today.
Giving such a monumental speech gave me the opportunity to share the back story of my son, plus my journey as a mother. It shares the reason I became and Emotional Awareness Author, although the book came later in December 2022.
Each year around April, I check in on how the talk is doing. Not because the views matter in numbers, but because it inspires me to keep going. I like knowing that the talk is still helping and inspiring other parents and teens. The numbers are the only way I know, plus the amazing comments left over recent years.

My talk was far from viral as I was an unknow speaker. The rate my talk is still growing shows how much the message was needed. This just proving how it still inspires people years forward.
The talk, titled "Tackling Teenage Depression", took one year to reach the first thousand views and that was double what I expected. The talk on YouTube started slow but hasd grown in strength, year on year. Six years to the day - it reached 46,000 views and counting.
I will update the list below, each year it reaches a big milestone. When this talk stops growing, I know it's time to plan another speech.
Updates of Video Views
2018 1000 views
2021 10,000 views
2023 46,000 views
2024 60,000 views
Remember that leaving a comment, like, or sharing, helps the algorithms share the talk with more people who need to see it. It is not just sharing the video, it is sharing ideas and sharing hope.
To get support that works, and learn this strategy for your teen or young adult, book onto one of my workshops, or check out the online courses available on this site.

I chose to use the start of lockdown as a positive time to inspire others through my videos. I started by doing 28 days live with guests each day. It was a success, but intense. Rather than just stopping, I moved on to recording weekly meetings on the 52 week discussion. I had my own health issues in 2021, resulting in the series ending early at 38 episodes. These episodes are still available to view.

I watched Brian's TEDx Talk with my son, around the time I was developing my Emotional Cycle Diagram. We laughed at how my son and Brian looked alike, but my son was impressed with Brian's message and speech delivery, as much as his magic talent used during his speech.
Brian Miller's TEDx Talk: How to Magically Connect with Anyone with an incredible 3.6m views.
When I was ready to prepare my own TEDx Talk, I reached out to Brian on Twitter, to ask if I could reference his talk, and use his photo during my talk. To my surprise, he replied. 'Of course'.
After my talk in March 2017, I sent Brian the link to Tackling Teenage Depression now on YouTube.
What happened next, blew me away. I would have been happy with a quick reply, but this is Brian Miller. Human Connections Expert. I'm an Emotional Awareness Expert. We both seem to have created titles for topics that no one else really teaches the way we do. Anyway...
Brian sent me a link to yet another video. It was his weekly blog about his magic, his music, his speaking career, and about eight minutes in, a Reaction video to my TEDx Talk! Click the link to see it.
It was 2021 before we connected again during lockdown for the Pivotal Point interview above - How to help teens understand themselves. We still comment to each other occasionally on Linked In or YouTube, and have definitely made a Human Connection, even though we have never met in person.
